Our annual Planet Mardi Gras Invitational takes place on Saturday 4th with our junior teams competing at 8am, and our top senior optional team at 4.30pm. Our other teams compete throughout Saturday and Sunday. This is a fully USA Gymnastics sanctioned event, with 15 other teams from nearby states joining us. Admission is $7 for adults, $2 for children, and under 5s are free. Team parents must sign up for a session on the bulletin board at the front entrance. No team practice on Monday 6th.
Saturday preschool classes will be cancelled on the 4th for the event. You can make up on Saturday 18th by taking a double class (9am class stays later, and the 10am class will start at 9am). If you can’t manage this, see the front desk to join an extra weekday class.
Mardi Gras holiday closing is Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th. Make ups for those classes will be on Saturday 18th sometime between 9 and 11am. See the front desk to sign up in advance.
Our teams, Silver and up, compete in New Orleans on the weekend of 11th.
Remember the Alabama State Championships will be held at the Convention Center downtown on March 17-19. Let the front desk know if you would like to volunteer. We also have vendor forms, if you would like to sell something at it. We are also looking for sponsors to provide packaged food and drink items, or to support our gymnast and official gift expenses. We will also host the USA Regional Championships in April.
Summer will be here before we know it, so start planning to keep your kids active and happy at the Planet Gymnastics Summer Day Camps. Flyers will be out soon. We will also have our Planet Olympic Gymnastics Camp, with guest coaches, on June 12-15, 2017.
